Anything Else You Are Wondering About? Here are some FAQs that may help!
Can I be an IBW Bookseller if I’ve never sold anything before? |
Yes, you can! You don’t need previous sales experience! |
Can this be a part-time business for me? |
Yes! This is YOUR business. As an IBW Bookseller, you set your own hours and put as much time as you choose into it. |
Is it hard to sell books? |
Selling quality children’s books is not hard. Good books are something parents will buy for their children even in tough economic times. Parents are eager to purchase IBW Books because they’re fun for their kids, include many extra features that extend a child’s learning… and are reasonably priced! And remember! Step-by-step Story Time Reading Party scripts help you to host fun and informative parties every time! |
Parents! Grandparents! Educators! Aunts! Uncles! And more! Anyone with a young child in their life! |
What age are the books meant for? |
The books in your Show Kit are of greatest interest to children ages 3 to 6 years. The Busy Preschooler’s Guide to Learning helps parents teach 3 and 4 year olds the skills they need to enter kindergarten. KA Readers are beginning readers, but they also work great as read-to-me stories. |
Do I have to go through training? |
There are no training sessions required and no expensive corporate seminars to attend to become an IBW Bookseller. Just familiarizing yourself with Show Kit books and Story Time Reading Party scripts prepares you to answer your guests’ questions! |
Is this a direct sales program where I have to recruit people? |
You are NEVER required to recruit anyone! When you become an IBW Bookseller, you present IBW Books. You are not expected to convince others to sell books in order for your business to be a success. Direct sales programs that require you to recruit others and promise bonuses for doing so also give a portion of YOUR commission to the person who recruited you. As an IBW Bookseller, you keep ALL the commission you earn. You NEVER share your commission with anyone. We certainly encourage you to tell interested friends and family how they can become IBW Booksellers by directing them to this website, but you are NOT required to recruit friends, family, or anyone else. |
What do I charge for the books? |
Prices for your parties are set by the publisher. Your guests can purchase The Busy Preschooler’s Guide to Learning for $15.00 and each KA Reader for $5.00. These prices are 75% off retail. Shipping costs vary with number of books and all fees are noted on your guests’ book order forms. |
How much can I expect to earn? |
Your commission is $3.00 for each copy of The Busy Preschooler’s Guide to Learning and $1.00 for each KA Reader that you sell. There’s no limit to your earning potential as an IBW Bookseller! |
When you take an order for an IBW Book, you receive your commission IMMEDIATELY! You do NOT have to wait for a commission check to be issued. You collect cash and/or checks from your guests for books, then take your commission out BEFORE you mail the orders and payment to the company. |
Do I have to buy inventory to keep on hand in my home? |
You never have to maintain or store an inventory of books in your home because you DO NOT have to fill orders and you DO NOT have to deliver books. The publisher maintains the inventory and ships all the books for you! |
Once I buy the Show Kit, do I have to buy any more books? |
The Show Kit is the only purchase required to host parties. |
Each Show Kit includes The Busy Preschooler’s Guide to Learning, 9 separate KA Reader titles and a bonus CD with a complete collection of full color webscene animations. |
If the webscenes are online, why does the Show Kit include a CD with webscene animations? |
Your bonus CD is great way to have webscenes available to access anytime, anywhere. Saving webscenes to an iPod or other hand-held device that you carry with you makes it convenient for you to do a “mini-presentation” for anyone… even when you can’t sign on to the Internet! |
Do I have to load software on my computer to use the books? |
You DO NOT have to load software to use IBW Books. |
Since the books use the Internet for the webscenes, do I have to buy a computer from you? |
No, you are not required to purchase a computer from our company. When you present the books, you are free to access the webscenes from any computer or device with web access that you wish, or simply load webscenes from the bonus CD for when you can’t get on the Internet. Ghost Hunter Productions is the exclusive publisher of IBW titles. We do not sell computers. |
What will a Show Kit cost me? |
Show Kit books have a retail price of $240.00 but are available to IBW Booksellers at the special Show Kit rate of $25.00, which includes SHIPPING. |
Can I replace individual titles in the Show Kit if they’re lost or damaged? |
Yes. Show Kits are provided in a package at a special bulk discount rate. However, individual replacement titles are available: $15 for The Busy Preschooler’s Guide to Learning (plus shipping and handling) $5 for each KA Reader book (plus shipping and handling)
Send a check or money order, along with the name(s) of the replacement books you’d like to order to: Ghost Hunter Productions 3265 R Drive Helena MT 59602-9709 |
What do I do if someone wants to buy books to send to multiple addresses? |
It’s fine to accept orders for multiple addresses. However, to ensure shipping accuracy, please ask your guest to fill out a separate book order form for each shipping address. |
What if someone wants to buy books at a Story Time Reading Party but doesn’t have the address with them where they’d like the books shipped? |
To save both you and your guest time and trouble, have the person fill in a book order form as completely as possible, take the payment for the books, then follow up by phone to fill in the mailing address. The publisher cannot fill orders without complete mailing addresses. |
Do you accept payment by credit card? |
To help keep the cost of IBW Books low, the publisher does not accept credit card payments. Orders are placed with a cashier’s check or postal money order as payment. |
Can I fax an order for books to you? |
Because orders are submitted with a cashier’s check or postal money order as payment, fax orders are not accepted. |
Is there a minimum or maximum number of orders that I can submit at a time? |
There are no limits to how few or how many orders you can send at a time. However, you may find it easier to group all the orders from a single Story Time Reading Party along with ONE cashier’s check or postal money order for the total cost of books and shipping. |
Do I get an employee discount if I order books for family or friends? |
Since IBW Books are available to IBW Booksellers to sell at a fraction of the retail price, there are no additional reductions. |
Do you ship internationally? Can I be an IBW Bookseller if I don’t live in the U.S.? |
No. Currently, IBW Books are shipped only to destinations in the United States. |
Are IBW Books part of a book club? |
No. There are no book clubs to join. No book fairs to set up. No minimum number of sales required. Also… since IBW Books are not part of a book club, they do not conflict with agreements that schools or other groups might already have in place with any book clubs. |
Are Story Time Reading Parties the only way to present the books? |
While Story Time Reading Parties are one possible approach, you are not required host parties. You’re encouraged to explore as many marketing avenues as you wish! For instance… · You may be a current or former educator who shares books with colleagues in a teachers’ lounge with administration permission. · You may want to approach local pediatricians or dentists to supply books to patients. · You may have contacts at school or community libraries. · You might consider speaking with local organizations that encourage reading. · You may wish to develop your own website to market yourself and your business.
